SUCCESS REPORT
Operation success:
Members from Urban Defence were conducting routine duties at business premises along Musgrave Road. A well-known robbery suspect struck up a conversation with one of the ARO. The suspect was recently released from prison after receiving a 10-year sentence for robbery and was incarcerated for 5 years and the balance of the 5 years he was released on parole. In the 1st week, whilst on Parole the said male committed an offence of theft via Cato Manor CAS: ***/01/2023, theft.
Enquiries were made and the investigations were incomplete and there were no grounds to arrest and hand over the suspect to Berea SAPS. The members from Urban Defence beyond their duties and contacted the Westville Correctional Facility and it was determined that there was a warrant of arrest for contravening his parole. The suspect was subsequently taken to Westville Correctional Facility where he will serve the remainder of his sentence.
